Hi there! I wanted to briefly explore two alternative forms of RP'ing! Mind you, I do not RP in either of these forms, but I do know and have seen them. ^_~

Erotic RolePlay

I’ve mentioned ERP before, but I felt I owed it to you to give you more than just what the abbreviation stood for.

ERP is the name for all things Erotic in RP. Since WoW is a pg 12 game, erotic content is not appreciated. Therefore you won’t come across much of it. At least, nothing that’s out for everyone to read. ERP usually happens in whispers, closed and abandoned areas or in party chat. For such moments, it’s common to use “Quotation marks” for speaking, since the difference is hard to tell otherwise. For example:

[Party]: John wrapped his arm around her. I do love you a lot, you know that right? He smiles at her.

[Party]: Amy returns the smile and nods. “And I love you,” She kisses him.

Here you may see what I mean. I’ll leave you to decide which of the two is easier to understand. :)

Other than this, ERP is often a very deep and intense sort of RP that is intimate and goes into details. I won’t be giving an example of how intense it is, as well, I need to keep the members’ ages in mind!

Most ERP for the Alliance is found in Goldshire and most ERP for the horde is in Silvermoon, This mainly goes for Argent Dawn, on the EU realms. :)

RolePlay - Player versus Player.

The name says a lot, I believe. RP-PvP is found on the special made realms, for example; EU - Defias Brotherhood or US - Twisting Nether.

This type of roleplaying is combined with PvP gameplay. Meaning that heading out of your city can be quite a challenge.

It is often said that people on these realms take death after a fight, as an In-Character death.

Not to mention, if you are used to other server types, like an RP or PvE server, RP-PvP realms can come across very hostile. The community there, overall, isn’t very friendly.

Furthermore, RP-PvP will require for you to fit the fighting into your Roleplay.

Fighting can be done in multiple ways, the most known for me personally, being a rolling fight.

A rolling fight is simply put, a fight where you do a /roll to see how high your chances of hitting someone are. In most cases, 1 will mean you missed them, but injured yourself, around 25 you simply missed, but didn’t harm yourself. From around 50, you hit your opponent, but it’s not exactly ideal. From 75, you have a good hit and if you roll 100, well, then you quite possibly hurt them bad. :)

Another form of fighting is simply writing out movements and having the other side counter it, or attempt to. But some people find this a difficult form, as it’s easy to cheat and people have to be careful not to turn into Mary Sues.
